We love Grand Monetecito!!! ...PilotsWifey - 02/18/2011We stumbled upon them shortly after being stationed and buying a house out here in nw vegas two years ago. I must admit, our initial reason for choosing them was because of location but that is not the reason why we have continued to stay. They are soooo Wonderful and caring with our pets, they treat our huge german shepherd, tiny chihuahua and our himalayan. They are very good about fitting you in on very short notice(we've never been turned away)and being a busy mother of 4 with a husband who's a pilot that's hardly ever home, that helps soooo much! The staff is awesome, Dr. Lewis is Great and the office is always kept very tidy. I've been into other vet clinics in the past and they can smell pretty bad but I don't smell a thing when I go into grand montecito! I recommend them to everyone I know who has pets, we've been taking our pets there for 2yrs now and I wouldn't even think about taking them anywhere else : )

Low-cost spay/neuter clinic ... Amy B.- 12/14/10We have taken all of our pets to Grand Montecito Animal Hospital for one thing or another, and have been very happy with the level of care they provide. We took advantage of their low-cost spay/neuter clinic for our male cat, Darwin, and he did great. They include so much more than the other low-cost clinics, like pain meds and follow-ups. They have also seen our neurotic, anxious dog, Luckie. Luckie has a bit of PTSD from her time in the big house, but they just loved on her and managed to quickly and easily give her the best nail-trimming she has ever had. I also appreciate that the wait time is never long here, the facility is clean and attractive, and they are open all day Saturday and 8am-1pm Sunday. We have luckily never had to use their emergency services, but it really puts my mind at ease that they will meet me at the clinic at any hour to take care of my pets.

My sincere thanks. .. Josephine - Sep 21, 2010I cannot say enough about this clinic, the staff, and Dr. Lewis. I first heard about this clinic when my dog had an emergency late one night. I called and was told that the Dr. would meet me at the office. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful my first experience was with this doctor, his concern for my dog was first and foremost, he spent time with him, made sure I understood exactly was the problem was and treated him with such loving care. We became regular patients. My dog just had surgery last night, and Dr. Lewis preformed the surgery, I am so grateful for his time and expertise, for my dog will be home tomorrow. I should mention he stayed way past midnight to make sure my dog was well enough before he left for the night. His staff is wonderful, caring, and treat patients like we are family. Will Follow Dr. Lewis Anywhere in the Country ... daneen - Jun 21, 2010My dog Summit became Dr. Lewis' patient at a different clinic and only by accident--the vet who had been treating him and trying to diagnose his problem was on vacation when he needed to come back for a follow up visit. Unlike the previous vet, Dr. Lewis carefully listened to me, pinpointed the problem, made him well and devoted a lot of quality, caring attention to Summit. The move to Grand Montecito meant that Dr. Lewis was about as far from my home as possible while still being in the same state! I trust him so much--and have found the staff so caring and friendly and helpful and genuine--that I will NEVER settle for a different doctor and even if I had to, I know that Grand Montecito Animal Hospital will offer me a doctor at least the caliber of Dr. Lewis. I couldn't possibly say better things about the doctors, staff, or facility (prices are reasonable, too). If you need a vet, drive out of your way to get there. D. Petty

Best animal hospital... Connor - May 9, 2010I take all of my pets here. I have a whole pitbull family at my house, a mother, father, son, & daughter, who all go to grand montecito for everything. Dr. Lewis has really taken great care of my pets & my family over the past few years. I had one of my pups from the first litter, who had a small heart condition, pass away within the first week of her life & Dr. Lewis & his staff did everything they could to help save her. I also had a second puppy from the litter pass from parvo & Dr. Lewis really helped me get through that and make sure that she wasn't suffering anymore. Best Animal hospital in the valley, PERIOD.... Angie - Nov 22, 2009I have been to many vets in the Las Vegas area over the past 20 years, and I can say without a doubt this is absolutely the best animal hospital in the valley. From the very first interaction with the receptionist, it was a joy to visit this establishment. I have an older dog that was "inherited" due to a foreclosure. I had absolutely no history on the animal, and just wanted to make sure she was healthy, and also get her nails cut, as they were so long they were affecting her ability to walk. Dr. Lewis was not only extremely pleasant and informative, he spent a good deal of time with me explaining and answering questions. I sincerely felt like my girl was the only patient in the hospital. Dr. Lewis suggested several tests and routine procedures that she needed, but NEVER pressured me into performing any of them, and even gave me a hard copy itemizing every procedure and how much it would cost. The drive to the hospital is quite a way for me, but even if I lived in Boulder City, I would be willing to make the drive to this amazing hospital.

Willing to Go Out of Their Way ... Amy - Oct 21, 2009Last year one of our cats was suddenly acting strange. We feared she may had eat part of a bamboo plant. We hadn't known before this that they were poisonous. It was very late at night and I called the emergency number for Grand Montecito. The vet on call responded and was awesome. He was so friendly and did not seem to mind at all that he was being called in at such a late hour, even though he was babysitting his young nephew and had to bring him in too! He did a quick check up on our cat. Her vitals were okay. He said to be sure if she was okay they'd have to keep her and run tests. I called my husband in tears because I knew we couldn't afford it. I asked what my options were. The vet was super nice and comforting and explained that we could take her home and watch her and could bring her back in if things got worse. He assured me that it could have been something as simple as she ate an insect that disagreed with her. He did not pressure me at all about admitting her and he didn't make me feel terrible for deciding not too. We are military and it would be less expensive for us to take our cats to base for check ups but we've decided it is worth it to take them to Grand Montecito--not just because it is in our neighborhood but because they offer excellent service and really do care.

Excellent Service with Caring Doctors and... - D - Sep 9, 2009My dogs went to this hospital for their yearly checks in April 2009. I recently moved out of Las Vegas and relocated to Florida. I am still in the process of looking for a vet in Florida so I called Grand Montecito Animal Hospital, specifically Dr. Lewis, for suggestions and guidance about heartworm and flea and tick meds. I was so impressed when Dr. Lewis personally called me back to talk to me about my concerns. Thank you Dr. Lewis and Staff for your personal touch.

There is a reason why Grand Montecito has continued to receive 5 star reviews! - Erica - Aug 3, 2009I will admit that my initial reason for choosing Grand Montecito for my German Shepherd's needs was because it was only a 5min drive from our home and because the clinic itself appeared new and very clean(which says alot about a business) so I scheduled my dog's 1st appointment and was soooo impressed w/the service we received, the doc took his time and was sure to answer all of my questions. Everyone from the doc, to reception, to the boarder was as kind as can be! Our dog looks forward to his visits and we feel at ease when we leave him off for his grooming appointments. In fact, we just got a kitten today and I will be calling Grand Montecito first thing in the morning to schedule her first check-up, I would never take our pets anywhere else. We Very Highly recommend this clinic, their service is Exceptional!!!

Great service - Nickname unavailable - Aug 3, 2009We were very happy with the staff and service at GMAH. Dr. Tayce was very helpful. We also found the prices to be completely reasonable. No one tried to get us to spend extra money beyond what was needed for our cats health. Believe me, there are some animal hospitals that will do that! We have decided to make GMAH our permanent animal hospital for our cat

Great Vets - Joli - Jun 24, 2009My dog has a heart problem and he was going to pass away. He had a week to live. Both doctors took care of him and now he is alive still. It has been a month and he is acting like a puppy now, even though he is 13 years old. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perfect! - Silvanna - May 28, 2009After adopting a new kitty I needed to find a veterinarian for her vaccinations. I called around to several places and was impressed with the professionalism and customer service that I received over the phone, thus, I made an appointment at Grand Montecito. I found that the visit was by far the best veterinary experience I have had, the customer service was flawless, Dr. Tayce took the time to answer all my questions. Overall the experience was impeccable, an above and beyond if you will!

You Will Not Be Disappointed! - Tina - Mar 11, 2009I've taken my Basset Hound to Grand Montecito Animal Hospital several times and Dr. Lewis, Dr. Tayce and the staff there are all wonderful, friendly, and caring. The doctors are very approachable and more than willing to take time to answer questions; I've never felt rushed or felt as though I were asking too many. The doctors are knowledgeable, thorough, and express a genuine care for the health of pets. Grand Montecito Animal Hospital offers coupons and specials regularly and has an all-hours emergency telephone number as another great feature. I would highly recommend this office to anyone, even those who do not live near the office; the drive will absolutely be worth it.

EXCELLENT- Maki - Feb 3, 2009I ran across Grand Montecito Vet when I first moved to the area. I needed to have my puppy vaccinated and was so happy that I found a vet close to home. After meeting Dr. Lewis, I knew this was the best vet office in the world. Every time I bring my animals in for their appointments, all of the staff are so accomodating and welcoming. Dr. Lewis is caring, knowledgeable and really cares about educating people on how to better care for their animals. He and his staff have been such an amazing help and I always look forward to bringing Athena in for her visits!

Highly Recommended!! - JL K. - Dec 11, 2008I have been to at least 4 vets in the year and a half that I have been in the Las Vegas Area. I became really disillusioned, and almost desperate. The vets seemed indifferent. This animal hospital opened on January 25, 2008. I happened to call them the next week because I was looking for a place so that my dogs (two) could get their shots. Dr. Lewis was very pleasant and even noticed that my boy dog had a rash. He set up a follow-up appointment. Also,my boy dog has a heart murmur. All the other vets told me that they couldn't do anything until he had shortness of breathe, or other severe symptoms. Dr. Lewis referred me to the Las Vegas Veterinary referral service. My dog saw a vet cardiologist. He is now on medication (beta blockers and blood pressure). The specialist told me that my dog's blood pressure needed to be regulated and that he could have had a major heart attack!
Additionally, my girl dog had necessary surgery with Dr. Lewis. She came out really well without the complications that the other vets predicted.
I have found everyone at this hospital pleasant, patient, and highly competent. Everyone is helpful and takes that time to answer your questions. I feel that they really care whether your family friend is healthy and happy. The vets are on 24-hour call. I have to admit that I have had little dealings with the new vet, but I cannot imagine that his attitude would be different because I don't think that he would be there.
Dr. Lewis is very patient with my dogs - especially my boy dog who just loves to lick the doctor in the face. IN fact, my mother has a dog that does not take to vets. Dr. Lewis is the only vet who is willing to deal with the dog, even if he has to sedate the dog.
Also, this hospital boards dogs and cats. I left my dogs there for two nights. They were not as wild as in other places, and Carmilla (head of boarding) said that she tries to treat the dogs like they are her own. Even the receptionists are pleasant all the time. I have been going there for almost a year and have not had any major issues. Granted, sometimes you have to wait (if you don't have an appointment), but Dr. Lewis always takes his time.

Great Care and Service - hptrls - Nov 19, 2008Dr. Lewis took the time, extra effort and worked with us with special testing on my Samoyed Husky Meea and sending to California for results to rule out any special problems she may be having.... He also is very kind and carrying with the issues of my beautiful Sable German Shepherd Zoe. My girls are both 7 years old and we feel comfortable with changing Vets at this time in their lives. Again, the clinic is very comfortable, staff is excellent, professional and carrying...My girls love them!

Amazing Experience - quarterican001 - Jul 27, 2008I have tried 3 vets in the 2 years ive been in vegas and all were disapointing until now. A co-worker recomended Grand Montecito since I was unhappy with my current vet. I called them with some questions because my dog was due for puppies any day, and my previous vets answer was "get a book". I spoke with Trina who was very nice, professional, and easy to talk too. Not even an hour after hanging up the pups were on the way. I called back and Trina got Dr. Lewis on the phone who very calmly answered all my questions, asked some of his own, and talked me through the first pup. He put my mind at ease and everything went well. When she was done I brought her and the pups in to get checked and they even stayed after hours for her. The staff was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Also the bill was much less than what I was paying before. With impressive service I have already reffered 3 people in 24hrs. I am a new loyal client.
